Hear the story of Mary Ellen Atkins, the local girl who ran away from her small town to join the circus, and Mat Young, the perfomer who ran away from the city, to live in the Outback! Matt the Ringmaster will entertain you with circus themed songs and stories from Broadway and beyond, whilst recounting his own journey from New York City to Blackall.
Matt Young is a well-known stage and screen actor, best known for playing James Cook in Captain Cook: Obsession and Discovery for Australia's ABC. Before moving to Australia in 2001, he toured the US, Canada and Europe in musicals including A Chorus Line, West Side Story, and On the Town. In Australia, he was in the original cast of Mel Brook's The Producers,the 2012 revival cast of Annie, and Queensland productions of Yank!, Mamma Mia, and the Matilda Award nominated Goodbye Miss Monroe. Film and tv credits include Hallmark's A Summer To Remember and Pearl in Paradise, Gayby Baby, Wrecked and the upcoming feature films Heart of the Man and Zombie Plane. Matt is the founder of Tukuna Acting Club in Fiji and Outback Queensland.
